2025 PBAK Evaluation: Majority of New Students Satisfied
Ciputat, FIKES News Online,– The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully conducted the 2025 Introduction to Academic and Student Culture (PBAK) event. The evaluation was conducted by the Student Senate (SEMA) in collaboration with the Vice Dean 3 for Student Affairs of FIKES. The Student Senate Chair, Muhammad Abdul Hakim, led the 2025 PBAK evaluation. The evaluation was conducted through the completion of an assessment form by new students. During each Faculty PBAK event, the Student Senate (SEMA) is always present to conduct direct observation and monitoring to ensure that all activities are conducted according to regulations, with integrity, and prioritize the comfort and benefit of new students. (9/2025)
Survey results show that 92.5% of new students found the PBAK activities enjoyable, while 96.7% considered the committee to be friendly in assisting the event. These figures indicate the committee's success in creating a warm, comfortable, and collaborative atmosphere.
In terms of integrity, the PBAK activities were also deemed clean. 99.3% of new students stated they did not encounter any illegal levies (pungli). Although 0.7% responded otherwise, upon further investigation, some were found to be errors in filling out the forms. This finding remains a concern for the committee, which will require stricter oversight in the following year to ensure that PBAK Fikes payments are not made outside the established guidelines.
In terms of comfort, the majority of new students did not experience any potential bullying. However, a small number of participants noted that they experienced unpleasant treatment. The committee followed up on these findings with a persuasive approach and appropriate resolution.
In terms of benefits, almost all new students (95.8%) found the PBAK assignments beneficial, both in developing writing skills, critical thinking, literacy, and social skills such as communication, cooperation, discipline, and time management. Many new students even considered PBAK a memorable initial experience and helped them adapt to the campus academic culture.
Vice Dean III of FIKES for Cooperation and Student Affairs, Dr. Ns. Uswatun Khasanah, MNS, expressed her high appreciation for the 2025 PBAK. She attributed the event's success to the strong collaboration between the committee and student organizations, as well as the full support of the students. She also emphasized that the results of the SEMA evaluation will be valuable information for improving the PBAK implementation in future years.
However, there were several suggestions for improvement, including the need for better time management, more adequate facilities, and a more balanced assignment load to reduce the burden. Participants also hoped for more interactive activities such as games, entertainment, and inspirational sessions to make the event even more memorable.
Overall, the majority of new students expressed satisfaction or very satisfaction (over 75%) with the 2025 PBAK series of events. The committee was commended for its hard work in presenting a friendly, exciting, and beneficial event. (UK)
