Inspirational Talk Show: "Building a Business While Still in College," FIKes Students Motivated to Become Young Entrepreneurs
Fikes Online News – The Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in collaboration with the Student Executive Council, once again held an inspiring event to foster entrepreneurial spirit among students through a talk show entitled "Building a Business While in College." The event featured the keynote speaker, Dr. Rahmah Annisa Putri Amran, a dentist and successful culinary entrepreneur who started her business while still in school. On Wednesday (July 23, 2025), the event was held in the FIKes Theater Room. The event was attended by the Vice Dean II for General Administration and Finance, Dr. Yuli Amran, and the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Uswatun Khasanah. The presence of these faculty leaders demonstrated their real support for developing students' potential and independence in non-academic fields.
In her remarks, Uswatun Khasanah emphasized the importance of concrete action from students, not just fleeting enthusiasm. In her remarks, she emphasized:
"We await concrete action and courage from students to start businesses, so that UKT is no longer a burden, but instead becomes a catalyst for greater independence and creativity."
In her presentation, Dr. Annisa shared her story of her struggle building a dim sum business from scratch, as well as practical strategies for students who want to start a business without disrupting their studies. Some key points she addressed included:
- Choosing a business model that is flexible with class schedules
- Utilizing online platforms and pre-order methods to save costs
- The importance of branding, packaging design, and social media promotion
- Time management, team building, and a simple financial record-keeping system
"Start with a simple idea and the courage to initiate, because financial independence during college is a real contribution to yourself and your family," Annisa said in her motivational session.
This activity received direct appreciation from the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. "We are very proud to see FIKes students showing such a strong interest in entrepreneurship. Talk shows like this serve as a bridge for students to excel not only academically but also to develop the ability to survive and innovate in the real world," she said.
The talk show also opened with an interactive discussion session, where students asked various questions about capital, marketing strategies, and tips for managing time between studies and business. The enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated that the entrepreneurial spirit among FIKes students continues to grow and needs to be continuously facilitated.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Jakarta, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the holistic development of students' potential, not only as healthcare workers but also as creative, independent, and competitive young people (UK/ZR)
