FIKES Online News, South Tangerang – The Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, held a closing ceremony for the Field Learning Practice (PBL) for students of the Public Health Study Program. This event culminated a series of activities that had been taking place over several weeks in various areas of South Tangerang City. Students engaged directly in the community to identify health problems related to tuberculosis, conduct education, and develop policy recommendations based on field data. Wednesday (April 15, 2026).

It should be noted that Field Learning Practice (PBL) is a learning method in which students work directly with the community or institutions to apply, integrate, and practice the theoretical knowledge gained in class. This activity aims to improve professional competencies, such as the ability to solve public health or clinical problems.

The closing ceremony took place solemnly in the MK Tadjudin Hall of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Zilhadia, M.Si., Apt., who in his remarks expressed his pride in the students' hard work and dedication during the PBL. Zilhadia emphasized that PBL activities are not just academic assignments, but also a tangible form of community service. "Through PBL, students learn to understand social dynamics, identify health challenges in the field, and hone their critical thinking skills to find impactful solutions," he said.

Next, remarks were delivered by the Head of the South Tangerang City Health Office, represented by Inani Puspita Sari, SKM., M.K.K.K.. In her remarks, she expressed her appreciation for the contributions of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta students who have helped implement health programs in the community. "We hope that the results of this PBL activity can provide valuable input for the Health Office and can foster future collaboration with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta," she said.

The event then continued with a Policy Brief presentation by the Head of the Public Health Study Program, Raihana Nadra Alkaff, Ph.D., which included a situational analysis of the Tuberculosis problem in South Tangerang City, field findings, and evidence-based policy recommendations that can be used by the local government and relevant stakeholders.

Following the presentation, the South Tangerang City Health Office returned the students to campus. This procession symbolized the end of the fieldwork period and the students' return to the academic world to continue their studies on campus. An atmosphere of emotion and pride was felt in the room, marking the end of the students' long journey in understanding the realities of public health firsthand.

Participants and invited guests were also invited to watch a PBL documentary video, which showcased the students' journey throughout the program, from field observations and community education activities to the final report preparation process. The video served as a visual reflection of the students' enthusiasm, hard work, and camaraderie during their fieldwork.

The event then continued with an exhibition of health promotion media created by the students. A variety of creative works, including posters, leaflets, educational videos, and interactive media, were on display, presenting informative and engaging health messages. This exhibition demonstrated that students are not only capable of analytical thinking but also creatively conveying health messages to the public.

With the conclusion of this activity, the Faculty of Health Sciences at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to produce graduates who excel, possess integrity, and are ready to become agents of change in the field of public health. (ZR)
