Online Fikes News - The Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held an international accreditation visitation activity with the ASIIN (Accreditation in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Natural Sciences, Mathematics) institution for four days on October 16-19, 2024. The ASIIN institution based in Germany is an international accreditation body specializing in engineering, mathematics, science, agriculture, and biology.

The ASIIN assessor team, namely Prof. Dr. Alexandra Kiemer from Universität des Saarlandes (Pharmacy), Prof. Dr. Christiane Kugler from Universität Freiburg (Nursing), Dr. Vasiliki Kolovou from Hochschule Hannover (Public Health), Dr. Helmy Yusuf from Airlangga University (Pharmacy), Nurliza Maulida (industry representative), Najogi Sitinjak, Ba Pharmacy UGM, Ma Global Health University College London (student representative), and Johann Jakob Winter, ASIIN Office arrived at the FIKES Campus to conduct a series of evaluations.

The evaluation includes reviewing academic documents, discussions with faculty leaders, interviews with lecturers and students, and direct visits to supporting facilities such as laboratories, teaching hospital networks and libraries.

A total of 5 study programs of the Faculty of Health Sciences, namely Public Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Nursing Profession, and Pharmacist Profession, participated in international accreditation activities.

Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Zilhadia said that this international accreditation visitation activity is a milestone faculty target for 2025-2029, where one of the main goals is to achieve international recognition, this is "our endeavor" and the hope is that in 2030 Fikes will be recognized globally.

Various preparations have been made, starting from completing facilities & infrastructure (laboratories, study rooms that meet international standards that meet safety aspects, green campus, disability-friendly, gender equality and humanity aspects), conducting training for lecturers to have Outcome-Based Education (OBE) knowledge and skills, as well as reviewing and revising the curriculum to ensure compliance with international standards.

Zilhadia said that this activity is also a strategic effort to increase the competitiveness of faculty graduates, as well as strengthening the commitment to producing competent graduates at the national and international levels.

"This accreditation is not only about recognition, but also encouragement for us to continue to innovate and develop a curriculum based on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Project Based Learning (PBL) so as to produce graduates who are competent at the national and international levels," said Zilhadia.

This visitation activity is an important step for the Faculty of Health Sciences UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in ensuring the quality of education provided in accordance with international standards and providing high quality assurance for students and graduates. (JH)
