FIKES Online News,- The FIKES Disaster Responder Team (FDT) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully held the Student Awareness for First-response & Emergency and Simulation of Disasters (SAFE X SIMBA) 2026. The event took place at the Student Center Hall and the Student Cooperative (KopMa) field within the UIN Jakarta campus, Sunday (26/4/2026).
Carrying the theme “Building Awareness and Action in Emergency Situations,” the program aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge, preparedness, and practical skills in responding to emergency and disaster situations. This initiative reflects FDT’s commitment to fostering a culture of awareness and readiness among students in facing potential crises.
The event was attended by active students of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and commenced with opening remarks from the Chief Organizer, Ahmad Fikri Maulana, and the President of FDT, Ernawati Janwar Lestari. Both speakers emphasized the importance of equipping students with disaster response competencies, highlighting that preparedness is a crucial factor in minimizing risks and saving lives during emergencies.
The series of activities included presentations by experts, interactive discussion sessions, field practice, and live disaster management simulations. The material was delivered by speakers from various institutions, including Ujang Dede Lasmana, SKM., M.Kes., M.Sc. from the Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC), and Aceng Asep Sopandi, S.Pd., MM from the South Tangerang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and Dr. Ita Yuanita, S.Kp., M.Kes., a lecturer in Nursing at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
The speakers addressed key topics such as the importance of disaster preparedness, rapid response strategies, and effective emergency handling, particularly in fire-related incidents. Their insights provided participants with both theoretical understanding and practical perspectives crucial for real-life emergency situations.
At 10:00 AM (WIB), the event featured a symbolic kentongan (traditional alarm) beating ceremony in collaboration with BPBD South Tangerang. This activity was part of the commemoration of National Disaster Preparedness Day, serving as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and early warning systems in disaster risk reduction.

In addition, participants joined a national Zoom session led by the Head of Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), alongside various institutions and organizations across the country. The session at the venue was guided by representatives from BPBD South Tangerang, demonstrating local participation in a nationwide movement to promote disaster preparedness.
Following the theoretical sessions, participants engaged in a live fire emergency simulation, allowing them to directly apply the knowledge and techniques they had learned. This practical component provided valuable hands-on experience in handling emergency scenarios, reinforcing participants’ confidence and responsiveness in critical situations.
