Fighting TB: 16 PBL Groups Launch TEMEN TB and KIPAS TB in Kampung Sawah

South Tangerang, Fikes Online News - Tuberculosis (TB) remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia, including in South Tangerang City. Low public awareness, the limited role of cadres, and the lack of practical educational media have made TB prevention efforts in the Sawah Village community less than optimal. Tuesday (February 3, 2026)

To address this challenge, Public Health students from Group 16 of the PBL UIN Jakarta presented educational innovations in the form of the TEMEN TB (Place to Learn About Tuberculosis) and KIPAS TB (Kenali, cegah, olatasi TB) websites. The TEMEN TB website is a digital educational tool that provides information about TB in language that is easy for the public to understand. The website can be accessed at https://sites.google.com/view/temen-tb-/home. Meanwhile, KIPAS TB is designed as a simple and practical educational medium containing important messages about TB to support cadre outreach activities.

This innovation was introduced during the Declaration of TB-Free Neighborhoods (RW) x TEMEN TB event held on February 2, 2026, at the Nurul Quba Mosque, RW 04, Sawah Village, Ciputat, South Tangerang. The event also included a health education session by Dr. Suherman, MARS, to strengthen community education.

The activity involved a pentahelix collaboration, with representatives from the South Tangerang City Health Office, the Head of Sawah Village, the Head of the Kampung Sawah Community Health Center, community leaders, health cadres, and local residents in attendance. Through this collaboration, the students hope that TEMEN TB and KIPAS TB can become sustainable educational tools and contribute to creating a more caring and TB-free neighborhood (RW) environment.

The outreach efforts for TEMEN TB and KIPAS TB did not stop there. Group 16 of the UIN Jakarta PBL also continued the educational activities through direct outreach at the Melati 1 Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) on February 3, 2026, allowing them to interact and interact directly with the local community. This activity provided a space for two-way dialogue between students, cadres, and residents to increase understanding regarding TB prevention and early detection within the family and community.
