Jakarta, FIKES Online News — The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a meeting for the parents and guardians of new students for the 2026/2027 academic year on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Prof. Dr. MK Tadjudin Auditorium on the FIKES UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta campus.

The event, themed "Building Synergy Between the Campus and Parents to Produce Excellent, Professional, and Islamic Health Graduates," served as a strategic platform to strengthen communication and collaboration between the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) UIN Jakarta and the parents and guardians of new students. Through this event, the faculty emphasized the crucial role of the family as a primary partner in supporting the educational process and character development of students during their university studies.

Approximately 300 parents and guardians of new FIKES UIN Jakarta students participated in the event, attending either in person or virtually via the Zoom platform. The high level of enthusiasm among participants reflected their great expectations and shared commitment to creating a conducive educational environment—one that fosters health graduates who are not only academically excellent but also professionally competent and grounded in Islamic values.

The event was marked by great enthusiasm from the participants. Faculty leadership directly presented various information regarding academic life, the learning system, educational facilities, student services, and student support systems. The atmosphere became increasingly interactive during the discussion and Q&A session, which gave parents and guardians the opportunity to ask questions and gain deeper insights.

During the meeting, FIKES UIN Jakarta outlined the academic system and curriculum in place, including the use of the "E-Semesta" system to help students and parents track academic progress, class attendance, GPA, and tuition payment details. This explanation aims to foster healthy communication among students, their families, and the faculty.

In addition to academic matters, parents and guardians were informed about student readiness for practical sessions, field placements, and interprofessional education within healthcare settings. FIKES UIN Jakarta explained that the Pharmacy, Nursing, and Public Health study programs have established partnerships with various training sites, including primary teaching hospitals, community health centers (Puskesmas), and certified health institutions.

Regarding student development, the faculty also shared information on available scholarships and financial aid opportunities from UIN Jakarta, government ministries, and industry or private sector partners. Students are encouraged to develop their potential through student organizations and community service activities while maintaining a balance between non-academic pursuits and academic responsibilities.

Student well-being was also a key focus of the meeting. FIKES UIN Jakarta introduced guidance and counseling services available to students, as well as the role of Academic Advisors in supporting students as they adapt to university life. Collaboration between parents and the university is expected to facilitate the early detection of potential challenges students might face.

Through this event, the leadership, staff, and academic community of FIKES UIN Jakarta reaffirmed their commitment to providing excellent service to students and creating an academic environment that is safe, conducive, and supportive of both academic and personal growth.

This meeting with students' guardians also served as a starting point for establishing ongoing communication between the faculty and students' families. Moving forward, the aim is to foster more intensive communication to ensure the effective sharing of information regarding student progress.
