Jakarta, Online FIKES News-  Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in collaboration with Business and Professional Women (BPW) Indonesia and ICT Watch held HerTech Training: Empowered by AI, a program to strengthen digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) for FIKES students and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah students Jakarta, Monday (6/6/2026)

This activity is part of efforts to increase the competence of the younger generation in facing increasingly rapid digital transformation, as well as equipping students with an understanding of the responsible, ethical, inclusive and safe use of AI.

The event opened with remarks from ICT Watch Executive Director Indriyatno Banyumurti, who emphasized the importance of strengthening digital literacy as a foundation for the wise use of AI technology. He stated that AI development must be balanced with critical thinking skills, digital ethics, and awareness of digital security.
 
Artificial intelligence offers numerous opportunities to increase productivity and innovation, but its use also requires critical thinking skills, an understanding of digital ethics, and an awareness of data and information security in the digital space.
 
"Technological advancement must be balanced with society's ability to use it wisely. Digital literacy is the main foundation for utilizing AI for the common good and progress," he said.

Furthermore, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Alimunhanif, M.A., expressed his appreciation for this collaboration. He hoped the training would improve students' readiness to face the challenges of an increasingly digitalized workplace and society.

Following remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si., stated that the use of AI has become a crucial part of various health science fields, from education and research to healthcare services. Therefore, students need to have the ability to use AI technology intelligently, critically, and responsibly.

According to him, artificial intelligence is now being used in learning processes, research, health data analysis, and even healthcare services. Therefore, health students need to have the ability to understand and utilize this technology appropriately.

"AI has become part of the development of modern health science. Students need to have the ability to use this technology intelligently, critically, and responsibly to provide optimal benefits to society," he said.

This activity also received full support from the President of the Indonesian Women's Health Association (BPW) Federation, Dr. Ir. Giwo Rubianti Wiyogo, who emphasized that the HerTech program aims to encourage increased capacity among the younger generation, especially women, to utilize digital technology and AI as a means of self-development, innovation, and increased competitiveness at the national and global levels.

The event was lively and interactive, with Birrul Qodriyah, S.Kep., Ns., M.Sc., as master of ceremonies. Participants enthusiastically participated in the series of activities, which were designed in a participatory and practical manner.

On the first day of the training, participants received a variety of important materials relevant to the needs of society in the digital age, including the Four Pillars of Digital Literacy, the Basics of Artificial Intelligence, Ethical, Inclusive, and Safe AI, and Healthy Internet in the AI ​​Era.

All materials were delivered interactively by Ian Keikal, a trainer from ICT Watch. Through discussions, case studies, and simple exercises, participants were encouraged to understand how AI can be used productively while also recognizing the various challenges and risks that accompany it.

The Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Ns. Uswatun Khasanah, S.Kep., M.N.S., stated that mastery of AI technology has become an integral competency for today's students.

"The ability to utilize Artificial Intelligence wisely is one of the important competencies that students must possess. AI is not just a tool to increase productivity, but can also support learning, research, innovation, and decision-making in the healthcare sector. Therefore, students need to be equipped not only with technical skills but also with ethical principles in its use," he said.

Through the HerTech: AI-Empowered Training, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in collaboration with BPW Indonesia and ICT Watch, hopes to produce a young generation with strong digital literacy, the ability to adapt to technological changes, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

This program is also a strategic step in preparing students to face future challenges, while also encouraging them to become agents of change capable of utilizing digital technology to create innovation and make real contributions to the advancement of society and the healthcare sector.(UK/ZR)
