FIKES UIN Jakarta Showcases Leading Innovations at ICI 2026
FIKES Online News – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta actively participated in the 16th Indonesia Cosmetics Ingredients Expo and Seminar 2026 (ICI 2026). The event, themed "Innovating the Future of Cosmetic Ingredients: Technology, Safety, and Sustainable Excellence," was held on May 6–8, 2026.
At the event, FIKES showcased two leading innovations in the pharmaceutical field: a capsule shell made from goat skin gelatin and Mangostin Emulgel. Both innovations were created by lecturers from the Pharmacy Study Program, Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si. and Sabrina, Ph.D.

The person responsible for participation in the ICI 2026 event is Dr. Nurmeilis, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, while booth design and innovation media were prepared by Julia Herniwati, S.Kom., M.M. This participation demonstrates the academics' concrete contribution to supporting the development of a national cosmetics industry based on research and innovation.
ICI 2026 is a strategic event that brings together local and global suppliers to showcase raw materials, packaging, laboratory equipment, and cutting-edge machinery in the cosmetics sector. In addition to the exhibition, the event also features a series of seminars featuring national and international cosmetics experts.
This year, ICI attracted 99 companies, with 37 seminars and 11 formulation laboratories participating. Furthermore, the event also held a selection of the best raw materials for 2026, with participants from both Indonesia and abroad. This activity aligns with efforts to encourage increased use of domestically produced cosmetic raw materials.

The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) at UIN Jakarta stated that participation in ICI 2026 positions FIKES as part of the national cosmetics innovation ecosystem. The theme is considered highly relevant to FIKES's vision of developing research into cosmetic raw materials that are technologically superior, guaranteed safe, and environmentally sustainable.
Through this forum, FIKES hopes to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and regulators to encourage the development of globally competitive Indonesian cosmetic products while prioritizing health and ethical aspects.
Going forward, FIKES aims for more optimal participation in ICI 2027. Specifically, the Pharmacy Study Program is expected to prepare more mature innovations to attract industry interest in utilizing lecturer and student research results as raw materials and ready-to-be-developed cosmetic products.
