Fikes UIN Jakarta Strengthens Global Standards with ASIIN Accreditation Visitation
Jakarta, Online Fikes News– The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully hosted an international accreditation visitation conducted by ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, the Natural Sciences, and Mathematics) from October 14 to 16, 2024. This pivotal event underscored FIKES's dedication to enhancing academic quality and aligning with global standards.
The ASIIN accreditation team consisted of seven distinguished professionals from diverse backgrounds. The academic experts included Prof. Dr. Alexandra Kiemer (Pharmacy, Universität des Saarlandes, Germany), Prof. Dr. Christiane Kugler (Nursing, Universität Freiburg, Germany), Dr. Vasiliki Kolovou (Public Health, Hochschule Hannover, Germany), and Dr. Helmy Yusuf (Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia). Industry representation was provided by Nurliza Maulida, a professional nurse, while the student perspective was contributed by Najogi Sitinjak, who holds a BA in Pharmacy from Universitas Gadjah Mada and an MA in Global Health from University College London, and also Johann Jakob Winter, ASIIN Office. The team’s diverse expertise ensured a thorough and objective evaluation of the five programs at FIKES: Public Health, Nursing, Professional Nurse (Ners), Pharmacy, and Professional Pharmacist (Apoteker).
The visitation covers five undergraduate and professional programs: Public Health, Nursing, Professional Nurse (Ners), Pharmacy, and Professional Pharmacist (Apoteker). The purpose of this process is to evaluate the academic quality, institutional infrastructure, and overall alignment of these programs with global best practices.
Positive Highlights and Recommendations for Improvement
The visitation provided an opportunity to showcase the strengths of FIKES while also identifying areas for further development. The accreditation team highlighted the dedication of faculty members and students, the breadth of integration of public health topics, and the commitment to incorporating Islamic perspectives into health sciences. However, the visitation highlighted several areas for growth:
- Enhancing Resources and Facilities: Improvements in library services, laboratories, and student support systems are necessary to create a more conducive learning environment.
- Curriculum Alignment: Programs, are encouraged to align more closely with industry demands while ensuring the integration of Islamic values remains balanced and manageable for students.
- Optimizing Learning Conditions: Adjustments to lecturer-to-student ratios and group sizes in practical sessions were suggested to improve the hands-on learning experience.

The Faculty of Health Sciences is committed to addressing these recommendations with a forward-looking approach. Dean of FIKES, Prof. Dr. apt.
