The Water Youth Challenge is an innovative competition that brings together students from various universities to design creative solutions to challenges in water management, coastal resilience, and environmental sustainability through a life-centered design approach. Participants are divided into interdisciplinary teams to analyze case studies and produce solutions in the form of scientific posters, which are presented to professionals, academics, and Indonesian-Dutch partners in the field of water governance.

The UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta delegation achieved a proud achievement. Three UIN Jakarta representatives emerged as winners of the 2026 Water Youth Challenge, including a FIKES student on the winning team. For this achievement, the winners received the opportunity to participate in a field trip to Muara Gembong, a strategic coastal area that serves as a learning location for coastal ecosystem management, climate change mitigation, and community resilience to environmental challenges.

This success demonstrates the capacity of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta students to compete in international forums and contribute their ideas to global issues, particularly those related to environmental health and sustainability.
