Harmonious Ramadan with FIKES Week 1: A Spiritual Momentum to Rediscover the Power of the Soul
FIKES Online News - The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta once again held the "Harmonious Ramadan with FIKES" event in its first week, Friday (February 20, 2026), from 8:30–11:30 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) online via Zoom Meeting. This event kicked off a series of programs for Ramadan 1447 H, aimed at strengthening spiritual values, togetherness, and a spirit of knowledge based on faith and piety.
The event began with an opening remark by the MC, followed by a recitation of verses from the Quran, creating a solemn and serene atmosphere. Following this, all participants sang the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" as a manifestation of nationalism and commitment to the nation, which go hand in hand with religious values.
In his remarks, the Dean of FIKES, Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si., expressed his gratitude for the organization of this event and his appreciation for the active participation of lecturers, educational staff, and students. He encouraged the entire academic community to use the month of Ramadan as a momentum to increase worship, deepen their study of the Quran, and improve their devotion to Allah SWT.
Prof. Zilhadia explained that Ramadan is not just about enduring hunger and thirst, but also about cultivating patience, strengthening faith, and building togetherness in goodness. He also emphasized the importance of cultivating a culture of reciting the Quran and engaging in spiritually-tinged scientific discussions within the FIKES environment to create harmony between science and Islamic values. He stated that healthcare professionals are not only required to excel academically and professionally, but also to possess spiritual resilience and noble morals.
Entering the main session, a lecture was delivered by KH. Dr. Akhmad Sodiq, M.Ag, on the theme "The Best Time to Rediscover the Strength of the Soul." In his presentation, he explained that every human being in their life journey inevitably faces various trials, challenges, and difficulties. However, through these trials, the strength of the soul can be forged and strengthened.

Kiai Sodiq encouraged participants to emulate the prophets and scholars of the past who remained steadfast in their faith despite facing pressure and hardship. These examples demonstrate that spiritual strength stems from closeness to Allah SWT. A strong person is not one who is never tested, but rather one who can endure and remain reliance on Allah in every situation.
He further emphasized that the month of Ramadan is the most appropriate time for self-reflection, refinement of intentions, and renewal of spiritual commitment. In this month of grace and forgiveness, the doors of goodness are wide open, giving every individual a significant opportunity to strengthen their soul through worship, dhikr (remembrance of God), reading the Quran, and increasing good deeds.
The speaker also emphasized that spiritual strength is crucial for everyone, especially in academic and healthcare settings, where they are often faced with significant responsibilities and work pressures. With a strong soul and a pure heart, a person will be able to carry out their role with greater patience, wisdom, and sincerity. The first week of the Harmonious Ramadan with FIKES activities was filled with enthusiasm. Participants solemnly participated in the series of events until the end, reflecting a spirit of togetherness and a commitment to continuous self-improvement during the holy month.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta hopes to continue providing constructive spaces for reflection, strengthening brotherhood, and fostering the character of healthcare professionals with excellence, integrity, and Islamic values. The following Ramadan activities are expected to serve as a means of strengthening faith and inspiring the entire academic community to experience the holy month more meaningfully.
