Harmonious Ramadan with FIKES Week 2: Ramadan as a Moment to Optimize Worship and Performance

FIKES Online News - The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta continued its series of Harmonious Ramadhan Bersama FIKES activities for the second week, held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:30–11:30 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) online via Zoom Meeting.

Themed "Ramadan as a Momentum to Optimize Worship and Performance," the event featured Suparto, S.Ag., M.Ed., Ph.D., as a resource person. He delivered an inspiring presentation on how the holy month of Ramadan is not only a space for enhancing personal worship but also a strategic opportunity to enhance professionalism and work productivity.

The event was opened by the Dean of FIKES, Prof. Dr. Apt. Zilhadia, M.Si., who in his remarks emphasized that Ramadan is the best time to align spiritual strength with academic responsibility. He encouraged all lecturers and the academic community to use the values of Ramadan as a foundation for building integrity, discipline, and a superior work ethic.

In his presentation, Dr. Suparto explained that fasting trains self-control, time management, and consistency in carrying out commitments. These values, he said, are highly relevant to improving performance in academic settings. Ramadan teaches focus, perseverance, and the ability to maintain quality work even with physical limitations.

He also emphasized the importance of intention as the primary foundation of every activity. When work is intended as an act of worship, every academic task—teaching, research, or community service—will have high spiritual value.

The event was interactive, with discussion sessions that inspired participants to reflect on their work patterns and daily habits. The enthusiasm of lecturers and the academic community was evident in their active participation in the question-and-answer session.

Through this second week of Harmonious Ramadan with FIKES, it is hoped that the entire academic community will be further motivated to use Ramadan as a moment for personal transformation—not only in improving the quality of worship, but also in optimizing performance and making real contributions to the institution and society.
