Online  Fikes News,- Efforts to advance and strengthen the quality of research continue to be carried out by the Faculty of Health Sciences. As in previous years, through the Health Research Ethics Committee, FIKES UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta this year again held a Coaching Clinic and Ethics Workshop: The Urgency of Ethical Clearance in Health Research. This event was held online on January 24, 2025. According to the Chief Organizer, Dewi Utami Iriani Ph.D (Member of the Ethics Committee and Lecturer in the Public Health Study Program), this event aims to provide an understanding of the importance of research ethics. In addition, this event also assists students in preparing protocols and ethical submission forms to the FIKES UIN Jakarta Ethics Commission.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Apt. Zilhadia, M.Si. In his speech, he conveyed the importance of all academicians to understand the importance of ethics in research. After being opened by the Dean, the event was continued with a presentation by Dr. Apt. Lina Dr. apt., Lina Elfita, M.Si (Member of the Ethics Committee and Lecturer of the Pharmacy Study Program) regarding the urgency of research ethics and principles of research ethics. Guided by moderator Mrs. Ns. Eni Nur’aini, S.Kep., M.Sc., Ph..D (Member of the Ethics Committee and Lecturer of the Nursing Study Program), the presentation of the material was continued by the second speaker, Mrs. Dr. Minsarnawati, M.Kes (Member of the Ethics Committee and Lecturer of the Public Health Study Program).

The successful event involving more than 200 participants was closed with a coaching session to assist in filling out the ethics form and research protocol. All participants were divided into 9 breakout rooms accompanied by facilitators who are members of the UIN Jakarta Fikes Health Research Ethics Committee. One participant said that this event was very useful because it helped in preparing the ethics form for his thesis research. Hopefully this event can continue to take place every year. (MS)
