OPAT TB: Collaboration of PBL Students Group 6 UIN Jakarta and Pasirmulya Health Center for TB Control in RW 4 in Gunungbatu Village
Online Fikes News,- Tuberculosis or TB is still a serious problem in West Java. Based on SKI 2023, West Java is ranked first with the most tuberculosis cases in Indonesia. The Bogor City Government has also taken preventive measures by launching a TB tracking application called Si Geulis. Gunungbatu Village, which is located in West Bogor District, is included in the area that requires special attention due to the high number of TB cases and the low level of public awareness of the dangers of this disease. In an effort to overcome this problem, Group 6 students of the Field Learning Experience (PBL) of Public Health UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta provided two intervention programs implemented in the Pasirmulya Health Center work area. In determining the right intervention program, Group 6 students have conducted a situation analysis and found problems that are a priority to be resolved in RW 04 Gunungbatu Village, namely the lack of education for the community and educational training for Cadres. Therefore, the intervention program carried out aims to increase knowledge of TB and Cadres can educate the community about TB.
The first intervention program, namely counseling related to prevention, the role of cadres, stigma, and TB screening, as well as training using flipcharts in educating the community. This activity was given the name "KARPET: TB Care Cadres". The target of the KARPET activity is the posyandu cadres in RW 04, Gunungbatu Village and the TB cadres of Gunungbatu Village. The KARPET activity was carried out on Tuesday (4/2/2025) which was carried out offline at the Cempaka Posyandu RW 04, Gunungbatu Village. The delivery of counseling materials regarding TB prevention was given by Mrs. Dewi Utami Iriani, S.K.M., M.Kes., Ph.D as a lecturer in Public Health at UIN Jakarta. In addition, cadres also received material related to the Role of cadres in integrated health posts and TB Screening delivered by Mrs. Fajar Ariyanti S.K.M., M.Kes., Ph.D and material related to Effective Communication, education through media, and efforts to eliminate the stigma of TB delivered by Mrs. Hanifah Azzahra, S.K.M. After the delivery of the material, there was a question and answer session with competent speakers so that the information conveyed could be trusted. Not only counseling, cadres were also invited to do counseling exercises which would later be assessed to be crowned the best cadres.
The second intervention program, namely counseling activities regarding TB to the Gunungbatu Village community using flipchart media and educational videos. The name of this activity is "FLIP-TBC: Interactive Flipchart for TB Prevention". This activity was carried out on Wednesday (5/2/2025) by gathering residents of RW 04 at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque RW 04 Gunungbatu Village. This counseling was conducted using a video containing an invitation to do TB screening and eliminate the negative stigma of TB in the community. In addition, counseling was also conducted using flipchart media carried out by the best cadres, namely Mrs. Erit Setiawati and group 6 colleagues, namely Ms. Cherry Athirah Hulwah.
With these two programs, it is hoped that knowledge related to TB can be increased. In addition, this program is expected to be a beneficial activity for the community, health centers, and students and to work together to realize Gunungbatu Village free of TB and improve public health. (KLP.PBL 2)
