Pharmacy students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, participated in the Student Mobility Program at UCSI University Malaysia.
Fikes Online News – In order to strengthen its commitment to the internationalization of higher education, which is part of its strategy for developing academic capacity and international networks, the Faculty of Health Sciences of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has sent three students from the Pharmacy Study Program, namely Dikka Ananda, Rani Aulia Yuda, and Rizki Lestari, to participate in the Student Mobility Program in Malaysia. This Student Mobility activity is planned to last for three weeks or 21 days, from November 3 to November 23, 2025, at UCSI University (Campus KL) and UCSI Hospital Springhill Malaysia.

The Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Zilhadia, M.Sc., stated that student participation in the Student Mobility Program in Malaysia is part of the faculty's strategic efforts to strengthen global competitiveness and equip students with international competencies.
"This program provides students with real-world experience in pharmacy practice abroad, while broadening their understanding of international pharmacy service standards. Students not only learn technical skills but also develop self-confidence, independence, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the context of cross-border healthcare," said Zilhadia.
He further emphasized that the program also brings significant benefits to the institution: "For the faculty, this is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of internationalization of education. Through collaboration with overseas partner universities, we expand our academic network, increase international exposure, and open up opportunities for further collaborations such as joint research, joint publications, and academic staff exchanges."
During the program, students participate in various intensive activities, some of the main ones including:
- Hospital Pharmacy Management. Observation of hospital pharmacy information systems, inventory management, organizational structures, and the roles and functions of the pharmacy department.
- Critical Care & Internal Medicine. Case clerking activities, case discussions, and visits to the ICU and internal medicine wards to understand the role of pharmacists in critical care.
- Compounding Workshop. Training in pharmaceutical preparation preparation, led by Prof. Vijay, provides practical experience in drug formulation.
- TDM & TPN Workshop. Introduction to Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), including techniques for monitoring blood drug levels and preparing parenteral nutrition therapy.
- OPD/IPD Exposure. Simulation of the prescription process screening, patient counseling, and understanding the Unit of Dose (UoD) and Unit of Supply (UoS) systems.
- Cultural Sharing & Assessment. UIN Jakarta students have the opportunity to introduce Indonesian culture in the Cultural Sharing session and present their learning outcomes in the assessment session at the end of the program.
