Pharmacy Study Program Holds Community Service: Prediabetes Screening and 5 Pillars of Activity Training
Online Fikes News– The Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, held a community service activity in the form of Prediabetes Screening and Breathing and Lifestyle Training with 5 Pillars of Activity. The activity, which aims to increase awareness of the importance of health, will take place from 13 to 28 November 2024, with a series of events held at Campuses 1, 2, and 3 UIN Jakarta.
Screening and Training for All Campus Elements
In this activity, employees, lecturers, and education personnel (tendik) of UIN Jakarta underwent health checks including measuring blood pressure, SpO2, blood glucose levels, weight, and waist circumference. The screening was carried out comprehensively in various faculties and bureaus, including the AUK Bureau, Faculty of Sharia and Law, Faculty of Tarbiyah, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
This activity was led by the Chief Executive, apt. Barita Juliano Siregar, S.Si., Apt., M.M., with direction from the Head of the Pharmacy Study Program, Ismiarni Komala, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt., Ph.D., and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si. The 14th batch of Pharmacy Study Program students also played an active role in assisting in the implementation of health checks, including Rafly Syahputra, Queen, Reihain, Edi Rohaedi, and Ilham Faruq.
Peak Event: Breathing Exercise Seminar and Training
The peak event was held on November 30, 2024 in Hall 308 of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) UIN Jakarta. The seminar presented two main speakers, namely Mas Tyo Prasetyo (Founder of Ketofastosis Indonesia) and Mas Agung Riyadi (Founder of Olah Nafas Ritme).
In the seminar, participants were given training on a diet based on the 5 Pillars of Activity to prevent prediabetes and diabetes mellitus. In addition, the speaker explained the importance of breathing techniques in managing optimal health. Seminar participants also received monitoring for one month regarding diet and lifestyle to maintain stable blood glucose levels and blood pressure.
Sweet Gifts for Seminar Participants
In closing, Mas Tyo Prasetyo distributed Keto-based food products to participants. This product is designed to provide a feeling of fullness faster with a taste that remains delicious even though it is made from low carbohydrates, high fat, and protein.
Hopes and Positive Contributions
Through this activity, the UIN Jakarta Pharmacy Study Program hopes to increase employee awareness of the importance of maintaining health through a healthy diet and lifestyle.
