South Tangerang, FIKES Online News— Sixth-semester students in the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, have conducted Field Learning Experience (PBL) activities by implementing the PATEN TBC (Care for Action to Complete TB Elimination) Program. This activity took place from Wednesday, February 2, 2026, to Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Qur'an Tahfidz Hall, RT 3 RW 11, Pondok Cabe Udik Village, Pamulang District, South Tangerang City.

The PATEN TBC Program is a public health intervention program aimed at increasing knowledge, shaping attitudes, and encouraging community behavior related to tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control. The target group for this activity were RW 11 Posyandu cadres, Community Leaders (TOMA) of RW 11, community representatives from each RT (neighborhood unit) in RW 11, Pondok Cabe Udik Village, and/or youth from RW 11. The event was also attended by the Faculty Supervisor (DPF), the Head of the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center, the Person in Charge (PJ) of the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center for TB, Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center staff, the Head of RW 11 Pondok Cabe Udik, and the Head of Neighborhood Unit 03.

PATEN TBC activities included various forms of educational interventions and community empowerment, such as TB counseling, TB-themed educational games, distribution of flipcharts containing TB material, and distribution of educational media in the form of posters and videos related to TB via WhatsApp and Instagram in collaboration with the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center. Through the PATEN TBC Program, it is hoped that the community of RW 11, Pondok Cabe Udik Village, will be able to recognize TB symptoms early, increase awareness of prevention efforts, and be encouraged to undergo TB examinations and complete TB treatment.

The activity began with a preparatory phase, which included coordination with the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center (Puskesmas) on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center Hall. Next, coordination was held with Posyandu cadres from RW 11 on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Durian Posyandu, RT 01 RW 11, Pondok Cabe Udik Village. Furthermore, coordination with the Pondok Cabe Udik Village was also conducted online via WhatsApp on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

On Wednesday, 2026, a counseling session was held in the Qur'an Tahfidz Hall, RT 3 RW 11, Pondok Cabe Udik Village. The activity began with participant attendance registration and the distribution of flipcharts. The session continued with a pre-test and educational materials related to TB delivered by the Faculty Advisor, Dr. Febrianti S.P., M.Si., completed the post-test, and finally, educational games to strengthen participants' knowledge about TB.

The activity focused not only on delivering TB education materials but also on explaining follow-up intervention mechanisms to participants. In the final session of the education, the Group 15 team presented a follow-up plan, which involved distributing educational materials in the form of posters and videos about TB, which would be distributed through representatives from each neighborhood association (RT).

Each RT was asked to send one representative to receive the educational materials and then disseminate them to residents' WhatsApp groups in their respective neighborhoods. This mechanism was designed as a community-based information expansion strategy, leveraging existing communication networks within the community to quickly and effectively reach more residents about TB prevention and control.

The follow-up intervention was implemented from February 5-7, 2026. Monitoring was conducted by collecting screenshots as evidence of media distribution in each RT's WhatsApp group. Based on the monitoring results, RT 03 was recorded as the area with the highest rate of distribution and the most active in distributing educational posters and videos to its residents.

As a token of appreciation for active community participation, an award ceremony was held on February 8, 2026, for the best neighborhood association (RT) in disseminating TB educational media. The event was attended by Mrs. Risa, an active cadre responsible for media dissemination, the Head of RT 03, community leader Mr. Fauzi, and students from Group 15, who implemented the program. Certificates of appreciation and rewards in the form of household necessities were presented, along with documentation of the activities as a form of program accountability.

To expand its long-term impact, Group 15 also collaborated on publications via Instagram with the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center, using the accounts @pbl15_poncab and @puskesmaspondokcabeilir. This collaboration is expected to expand the reach of TB education to a wider community through digital media.

Furthermore, Group 15 provided flash drives containing TB educational videos to the community health center for regular screening on television in the waiting room. It is hoped that this media will serve as a continuous educational tool for every visitor to the health center, ensuring consistent delivery of promotive and preventative messages related to TB.

The implementation of the PATEN TBC (Care for Action, Complete TB Elimination) program by students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta in Neighborhood Association (RW) 11, Pondok Cabe Udik Village, is expected to increase public awareness and active participation in tuberculosis prevention and control efforts. This activity demonstrates the implementation of student field learning through education, community empowerment, and the use of community-based and digital information media.

With the support of the Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center (Puskesmas), integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres, community leaders, and the involvement of local residents, this program is expected to encourage the sustainability of health education and strengthen the shared commitment to supporting the TB elimination target.
