Fikes Online News - The 2023 class of students majoring in Epidemiology in the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, conducted an Institutional Posbindu (Community Health Post) activity on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the lobby of the New FIKES Building of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This activity integrates the Tridharma of Higher Education in education/teaching and community service for the Screening Practicum course currently being undertaken by the 2025 Epidemiology students.

The Institutional Posbindu activity, held on October 21, 2025, was attended by a total of 110 participants, consisting of 96 students, 9 lecturers, and 5 administrative staff. Of these, 86 participants were from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, while the other 24 participants were from outside the faculty.

The Institutional Posbindu (Integrated Health Post) is an annual program for the entire academic community of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, providing a first step in identifying personal health conditions and fostering awareness of the importance of healthy living. With the theme "CARE" (Check and Reduce the Early Risk of Non-Communicable Diseases), this activity focuses on preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and improving mental health from an early age.

Through this activity, participants had the opportunity to undergo a comprehensive health examination, which included an interview regarding risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), an interview regarding mental health, measurements of height and weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, total cholesterol, blood sugar, and uric acid levels, and a consultation with the results.

The activity began at 6:00 a.m., with the committee preparing supplies and necessities to ensure the smooth running of the Posbindu (Community Health Post) activities. Participants began arriving at 8:15 a.m. WIB. The event proceeded in an orderly and systematic manner. Participants were directed to fill out a Google registration form if they had not already completed the registration link, which had been previously published through the media. After passing through the registration desk, participants were directed to the next table for interviews regarding risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health.

After completing the interview session regarding risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), participants were then directed to the mental health risk factor interview table. At this stage, participants had the opportunity to identify possible early symptoms of mental health disorders. This interview process aimed to provide an initial overview of the participants' psychological condition. After completing the mental health interview, participants proceeded to Table 3 for physical assessment.

The next stage was Table 3, which was the physical assessment section for participants. At this stage, body weight (BW), height (HB), and waist circumference (WC) were measured to obtain a general overview of the participants' anthropometric status. Once all the measurement data was collected, the committee immediately calculated their Body Mass Index (BMI) using the weight and height measurements.

In the next stage, participants were directed to the blood pressure measurement table as part of the physical examination. Blood pressure measurements were performed to assess heart function and blood circulation, by recording systolic and diastolic pressure values.

The next stage is table 4, which is the simple laboratory examination section. At this stage, participants undergo a series of tests including blood glucose, hemoglobin (Hb), cholesterol, and uric acid measurements. This examination aims to assess their health status in more depth, particularly in early detection of the risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes mellitus, anemia, hypercholesterolemia, and gout.

As the final stage, participants are directed to table 5, which is the examination results consultation and health education table. At this stage, participants receive a comprehensive explanation of the examination results, including interviews regarding risk factors for NCDs and mental health, as well as physical and laboratory examinations.

A team of consultants, consisting of epidemiology students, assists participants in interpreting the test results, identifying risk factors, and providing preventive and promotive advice tailored to each participant's individual condition. Participants also receive education on healthy lifestyles, including the importance of maintaining a balanced diet, regular exercise, and stress management. Furthermore, the consultant team provides recommendations for follow-up (referral) for more detailed examinations to health facilities if any of the participant's test results indicate a risk of NCDs or mental health disorders.

In the final stage, at table 6, the Posbindu committee documented the completed Health Cards (KMS) containing all the participants' examination results during the activity. As a token of appreciation and gratitude, the committee awarded prizes to participants who actively participated in the Institutional Posbindu activities. As the event drew to a close, the entire committee worked together to clean the activity area, collect used medical equipment, and return tables and equipment to their original locations.

The Institutional Posbindu activity, attended by 117 participants, officially concluded at 12:30 p.m. WIB. It is hoped that this activity will serve as an educational resource for students and the entire academic community of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in understanding their health conditions and encouraging the creation of a healthier and more active campus environment. One participant, a student, expressed her positive impression of the activity, saying, "Alhamdulillah, by participating in this activity, I learned that my body, which I thought was healthy and normal, actually has some things that need attention. Through this activity, I not only learned about my physical condition, but also received explanations about the causes, effects, and how to address them so that test results return to normal limits." she explained.
