Responding to the Challenges of the Digital Era: UIN Jakarta's Master of Pharmacy Program Holds a General Studium on Digital Transformation in Healthcare

FIKES Online News - The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through the Master of Pharmacy Study Program, held a Studium General on Saturday, March 14, 2026, themed "Digital Transformation in Healthcare: Preparing Health Professionals for a Technology-Driven Era." The event featured Dr. Apt. Lusy Noviani, M.M., as a resource person, who presented on the development of digital technology and its impact on modern healthcare practices.

Attended by students, lecturers, and the academic community of the Master of Pharmacy Science program, the event aimed to broaden students' academic horizons regarding the integration of technology into healthcare systems. The event began with a recitation of verses from the Quran by Pharmacy students, followed by remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Apt. Zilhadia, M.Si. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of healthcare worker preparedness in facing changes in the increasingly digitalized healthcare system.

The event then continued with a presentation session moderated by Apt. Adha Dastu Illahi, M. Farm, one of the lecturers of the Pharmacy Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. In the material presentation session, Dr. Apt. Lusy Noviani, M.M. explained that digital transformation in health is not only related to the use of technology alone, but also concerns the readiness of health workers to utilize the technology optimally. Various digital innovations such as Electronic Health Record (EHR), Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS), to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have begun to be used to help analyze medical data, evaluate drug therapy, and improve the accuracy of clinical decision making.

In addition to the presentations, the event also featured an interactive discussion session that garnered high enthusiasm from the participants. One topic discussed was how artificial intelligence systems can be developed specifically for the healthcare sector and how to ensure that the information provided by such systems is validated.

In response, the speaker explained that AI development in healthcare is generally based on the integration of various credible medical data sources, such as scientific literature, clinical databases, and evidence-based therapy guidelines. These systems are typically designed through a scientific validation process and oversight by healthcare professionals, so the resulting recommendations must still undergo professional evaluation by doctors and pharmacists before being implemented in clinical practice.

Through this general studium, it is hoped that Master of Pharmaceutical Science students will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the role of digital technology in the modern healthcare system, while also preparing themselves to adapt to technological developments that are increasingly integrated into pharmaceutical practice in the future.
