UIN Jakarta Nursing Professional Program Holds the 20th Nurse Inauguration and Oath-Taking Ceremony, Welcomes 81 New Registered Nurses

Jakarta, FIKES Online News – The Nursing Professional Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully held its 20th Nurse Inauguration and Oath-Taking Ceremony at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, on Wednesday (September 16). The ceremony was conducted in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, attended by university leaders, representatives of professional organizations, members of the academic community, as well as the graduates’ parents and families.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta; Prof. Dr. Zilhadia, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; the Vice Deans of FIKES UIN Jakarta; Karyadi, Ph.D., Chair of the Banten Regional Council of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI); Dr. Maftuhah, M.Kep., Head of the Nursing Professional Program; along with faculty members and the families of the newly inaugurated nurses.

A total of 81 graduates were officially inaugurated and took the professional oath as newly registered nurses. The oath-taking ceremony was formally opened and led by Dr. Maftuhah, Ph.D., Head of the Nursing Professional Program, marked by the striking of a gavel as a symbol of the commencement of the inauguration and oath-taking process.

On this occasion, a representative of the new nurses, Ns. Salma Nurahma, S.Kep., delivered a speech reflecting on the graduates’ long and challenging journey through professional nursing education.

“Today’s achievement is not because we are perfect. It is proof that Allah SWT never abandons those who continue to strive and move forward. If this journey were compared to a voyage, we were once like small boats facing waves from every direction. We have gone through many challenges, sacrifices, and struggles. This success is also the result of our parents’ prayers and perseverance. Congratulations to all of my colleagues who have successfully completed this professional journey,” she said.

Meanwhile, Eka Syamsudin, S.Pd., representing the graduates’ families, expressed appreciation to the university and faculty members for their dedication in guiding the students until they successfully completed their professional education and officially earned the title of Ners.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Zilhadia, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, conveyed his pride in the graduates’ accomplishments in successfully completing their professional nursing education.

“Today is a proud moment for the Faculty of Health Sciences at UIN Jakarta. Students who have gone through years of education and training are now officially professional nurses. We hope that our graduates will make meaningful contributions to the nation’s healthcare development and serve as frontline healthcare providers across various healthcare facilities,” he stated.

Congratulations were also extended by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, who commended the hard work of the graduates and the unwavering support provided by their families throughout their academic journey.

“Congratulations to all newly registered nurses and to the parents who share in the joy of this achievement. Uphold the good name of your alma mater and demonstrate that this graduating class is a golden generation capable of bringing the Nursing Professional Program of UIN Jakarta to greater recognition and achievement at both the national and international levels,” he remarked.

During the same event, Karyadi, Ph.D., Chair of the Banten Regional Council of PPNI, encouraged the graduates to uphold professional ethics and prioritize patient safety in every aspect of nursing practice.

“The nursing profession is a noble profession because it is directly connected to the safety and health of the community. Therefore, newly inaugurated nurses are expected to remain cautious, professional, and committed to integrity in providing patient care, thereby enhancing the reputation of both the profession and their alma mater,” Karyadi emphasized.

The 20th Nurse Inauguration and Oath-Taking Ceremony marked an important milestone for the graduates as they begin their service as healthcare professionals grounded in scientific knowledge, ethical values, and a spirit of humanity. With the addition of 81 newly registered nurses, the Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, once again demonstrated its commitment to producing competent, ethical, and highly qualified nursing professionals ready to contribute to Indonesia’s healthcare development.

The ceremony concluded with a group photo session involving all graduates, university leaders, faculty members, representatives of professional organizations, and families as an expression of gratitude and celebration of the graduates’ successful completion of their professional nursing education.
